I read this two, three, four times. It was still rich the fourth time around. You perfectly captured what it is to be in the rinse & spin cycle of "wellness." What it is to see a concept turned into a mantra, a way of being that then becomes the only acceptable way of being. It's dizzying, but I feel much less so after reading this newsletter. Just SO GOOD :)
I too had to come back to this unpopular teaching many times to allow it to sink in. To feel the exhale that comes with being a “mess” or releasing any rigidity I had over being balanced and having everything in a row. This concept is at first jarring, but the more it unfolds in you, the more you realize how jarred you were originally by falling into the trap of balance. My gosh!
“The rinse & spin cycle of wellness.” That one made me cheeky. Absolutely love the way you conceptualize. So sweet to have you here.
This perspective isn’t wild at all. It’s more grounded than any other self-help routine etc that I’ve heard. I enjoyed this Sierra! I really did. We so often need to be reminded (and that makes me sad) that we don’t need a manual on how to do “life” or a permission to be whatever version of ourselves that seems to be working at the moment. The less grip on balance I have, the easier life gets… hmm or maybe not easier, more interesting! Like living thousands of lifetimes in one.
Boshka! Always so lovely seeing you pop up here. Isn’t that the oddity of it all? That this brings more grounding into your sphere than any of the self-help cycles? Perhaps the manual is all bullshit anyways. Perhaps the inner road map purposefully has bumps and curves that guides us into letting go of the GPS anyways. :)
Absolutely whole heartedly agree!! I’ve been skeptical of the balance thing for a long time and loved reading your beautiful words. I think about the yin yang symbol always flowing into each other, balance doesn’t exist, it’s a fluid thing, and balanced also sounds boring as hell which is for sure my own judgements but I like being unbalanced and I’m keeping it 😝🩷
“I’ve been skeptical of the balance thing for a long time” hahaha me too, me too. Where there is fluidity there is life. We are just breathing beings attempting this experience, and that alone deserves an unbalanced way of navigation. <3
Your words are a breath of fresh for me every time I read them. So many things are clicking and making sense. I love learning from you. Thank you for being who you are!
